Melpool TA+, with ingredient sodium bicarbonate, is used to increase the alkalinity of the pool water and stabilizes the pH. The ideal alkalinity in pool water is between 80 - 120 ppm. When the alkalinity is too low then the wall plaster is susceptible to etching, causing staining of the floor as well as metallic corrosion. High alkalinity makes the pool cloudy and the chlorine disinfectant efficiency will be compromised.
